How to give yourself a Spa Treatment at Home

These days heading out for a day of pampering at the local spa can be off limits for some people. The cost of such a day can be tremendous, and many people simply cannot find the extra cash to indulge in such pleasure. There is good news, however, and that news is that you can have a spa day right in the comfort of your own home. A DIY spa day at home can provide you with invigoration and relaxation that puts you on top of the world, all without costing you an arm and a leg.

Bubble Bath

Fill your tub with water, ensuring that the water isn’t too hot and isn’t too cold. Add plenty of scented bubble bath to the water so there is enough suds to fill up the tub. Bring your iPod into the bathroom with you, and put on a bit of easy listening music. Although this might not be the music of your choice, playing it during your spa day will ensure that you’re in the mood for relaxation. While you’re in your bubble bath, allow your mind to clear and escape from the reality of world. Have a body pillow available to lie back on while you bathe.

Facial

A steam facial is wonderful after you’ve enjoyed your bubble bath. It is also fairly easy to perform. Simply take a bowl and fill it with hot water that is steaming. Add essential oils drops to the water for a fragrant and uplifting extra. Now you should use a towel to cape the back of your head as you bend over the steaming water. You should keep your face over the water for about 5 minutes (or longer if you prefer.) the steam will open your pores and help your skin feel amazing.

Pedicure and Manicure

A pedicure and a manicure are also essential pieces of a spa day retreat, and you can easily perform these tasks on your own. For a pedicure, fill a large bowl with water. Add foot scrub or foot salt. Soak your feet in the water for about 5 minutes. Dry your feet, use a callus remover to remove dead skin, then paint your toenails. Coat your feet in lotion and put on a pair of heated soaks. To perform a manicure,     coat hands in lotion. Stretch your fingers, push back your cuticles, and file and cut your fingernails. Use hand scrub to remove dead skin. Complete with a beautiful coat of fingernail polish.

Relax

You have to take the time to relax to complete your spa day at home. To do this, turn off all of the lights in the house, throw on a pair of comfortable pajamas, and add relaxing scented candles to the room, you can quietly watch a movie, read a book, or rest doing nothing at all. The key is to turn off the cell phone, the laptop and enjoy your time.
