Do You Need a New Bed? 5 Signs it is Time to Replace

Is it time to buy a new mattress? Thousands of people in this world are sleeping on the wrong bed and many of them do not even know it! There is, however, many telltale signs that indicate it is time for that purchase to be made. We will share 5 of the most common of them. If you are experiencing any of the below scenarios, there is a good chance that a new bed should be a purchase you plan to make in the near future.

1.      It is Old

The average bed lasts for a period of eight years. After this time, the bed no longer can provide you with the sound sleep that you need to wake up feeling refreshed and invigorated. If your bed is 6 – 8 years old, your bed is worn, outdated and probably not giving you the adequate sleep that your body needs. A new bed can change things around.

2.      Your Body Aches

Once a bed has stopped being comfortable, whether or not it is eight years old or not, it is time to get something new. If you are waking up with aches and pains, lower back pain, or your arms/legs hurt, that is one sign that you could stand to get a new bed. Same goes if you wake up feeling stiff.

3.      Holes/Rips/Tears

A mattress with holes, rips, tears, and other similar marks is indication that your bed needs to be replaced.  Chances are good that a bed that has this kind of wear and tear is not comfortable, thus you lack sleeping soundly at night.  You might not even realize your bed is causing trouble!

4.      What’s that Noise?

Another sign that it is a good time to replace your mattress is when it is squeaking, creaking, or making other noises. A noisy bed isn’t the kind of bed that will provide you with adequate sleep at night, so if you’re hearing noises every time you move around, perhaps a new mattress will do you good.

5.      Are you still tired when you Wake Up?

So many people toss and turn all night long and fail to get that much needed REM sleep. This leads to waking up feeling tired and restless, thus causing poor decision-making habits and a slew of other problems. So, if you have tried to figure out what is causing you to feel so bad, perhaps you need to stop and take a look at the mattress that you are sleeping on? This very well might be the problem, and a new one could solve your woes.

Although you might think that buying a new mattress is a purchase that can wait, if any of the above five situations apply, you might want to rethink your decision. A bad mattress causes a bad night of sleep, and a bad day when you want to be productive. A new mattress can turn things around and you will immediately get the sound sleep that you want and need.
